Hashoff

Moving from your current system

Switching leave trackers is mostly about one thing: everyone's balance being right on the first morning. Here is how that works.

What moves, and who moves it

Your people

Automatic

Imported from Slack the moment you install. Nobody is typed in by hand, and if someone already exists in Hashoff they are matched by email rather than duplicated.

Teams, policies and allowances

You, in a few minutes

Set from your existing configuration. Usually a handful of leave types and one or two allowances, so it is quicker to enter than to export.

Public holidays

You, one click per country

Import the calendar for any of 152 countries. Each person observes the holidays of the country they are in.

Opening balances

We do it for you

Send us your export and we load each person's remaining balance and days taken so far.

Historical leave

We do it, if you want it

Optional. Worth it if you report on past absence; skippable if you only care that today's numbers are right.

Requests awaiting approval

Re-submit them

Usually a handful. Quicker for the people involved to re-request than for anyone to migrate a half-finished approval.

We do the import for you. For a company of fifty it is a short job, and doing it by hand means you get it right the first time.

Balances that match

Your old system counts days by its own rules, so its balances will not land exactly on ours. We import the history and a labelled adjustment for the difference, and send you a per-person report of both numbers before anything is written.

When to switch

At your leave-year boundary is easiest: an opening balance is the allowance plus whatever carried over. Mid-year works too — it needs days taken so far for each person.

Starting

Install Hashoff — your people arrive from Slack straight away, and you can set up policies and holidays while we sort the balances out. Then get in touch with an export from your current system, in whatever format it gives you, and tell us your leave-year start. We will come back with the reconciliation report before anything is loaded.
